Overview (0:00 – 0:37)

The activation of the OData services and the ICF services are required to initially set up the SAP Fiori Launchpad and SAP Fiori Launchpad designer. SAP Netweaver Gateway provides the infrastructure for the OData services used by the SAP Fiori Luanchpad and SAP Fiori apps. An OData service has to be enabled in SAP Netweaver Gateway to establish a mapping between the technical OData service name and the corresponding back-end service identified by system alias name space and the external service name.

Getting the Services (0:37 – 1:09)

First on the front end server of SAP Easy Access run the transaction activate and maintain services by entering /IWFND/MAINT_SERVICE. Now in the service catalog click on the Add Service button.

In the system alias field open the input help icon and select LOCAL. In the field external service name insert page_builder* and then click the Get Services button .

Adding the Services (1:09 – 2:10)

Click the Select All button to select all of the backend services. Then click the Add Selected Services button. In the window that opens click on the Local Object button and then the green check mark to continue.

Now in the external service name field type in interop followed by clicking the Get Services button. Select all of the services then click the Add Selected Services button. Clicking continue at the bottom of the window will successfully create the service interop and load its metadata.

Next enter transport in the external service name field and click Get Services. Again selected all of the services, add those selected services and click continue. Next click on the green back button to return to Activate and Maintain Services to see that all of the services are now active in your customer name space.

Generating Hash Keys from OData Nodes for the Services (2:10 – 3:18)

Now click on the Filter button and type in Z* into the technical service name field to search for services beginning with the letter Z. Back in the transaction Active and Maintain Services call each service once by selecting it and then clicking on the Call Browser button. Always make sure to select the OData node from the IFC Notes section before clicking on the call browser button. Never choose the SData node.

If you have called a service successfully an XML document without any error messages will be displayed in your web browser. When you call a service a hash key is generated in the background. This hash key is required for the generation of authorizations described under assign administer role for SAP Fiori Launchpad to administer user.

Now click on each of the remaining services individually, make sure the OData node is selected and click on the Call Browser button to generate a hash key from the XML document for each service.

Verifying Hash Keys (3:18 – 4:11)

To verify that the hash keys were generated into the USOBHASH table, run the transaction data browser by entering /nse16. Now in the Data Browser: Initial Screen enter USOBHASH into the table name field and click on the Table Contents (F7) button. Now in the PGMID field enter R3TR and in the OBJECT field enter IWSG.

In the OBJ_NAME field enter the technical service name of your generated service. This will typically start with the letter Z and has the version number appended with a four digit leading format with four zeros. Then click the Confirm button to see the hash keys displayed in the table.
